Following the launch of the ‘Riverside Innovation Centre’ on Friday, I wished to make you aware that the Business Lounge facility is now open for business. The Business Lounge is located by the entrance to the RIC and has its’ own coffee shop serving hot & cold refreshments throughout the day.
The Business Lounge is open to anyone to use as a meeting space – whether it be for a one-to-one meeting with an employer or a small staff meeting.
At the start of October, our hot-desking facilities and incubation units will be launched, along with a welcome to our partners within the centre including the Chamber of Commerce. The Business Lounge should be a ‘hub’ of activity with opportunities for networking between local businesses and University staff. We are obviously keen to raise the profile of the RIC within the sub-region and encourage businesses to drop in to use the space and free support available here.
If you have any meetings coming up with employers, external partners or University staff at Riverside, please do take the opportunity to use the Business Lounge as meeting space.
If you feel that anyone else within the University, or indeed external to the University may wish to use the Business Lounge for their meetings, please do let me know or feel free to forward this email.
Any questions regarding the RIC facilities, just give Kirsty a call on:

Green Energy for Rural Business and Rural Communities
Focus on Green Energy for Rural Business and Rural Communities
Trafford Hall*, Thursday September 22 from 5.30pm -7.30pm
This session targets rural business and rural communities and provides an overview of green energy and a chance to see some of this in action at Trafford Hall, which as a business has adopted many of these new technologies and provides a great case study.
* Trafford Hall Home of the National Communities Resource Centre Trafford Hall Ince Lane, Wimbolds Trafford, Chester, CH2 4JP.
This network event is dedicated to informing business owners of the current opportunities of installing renewable energy technologies and is an exciting opportunity to find out about the technologies available and explore the support options available.
The benefits are significant: not only environmentally, but also financially.
