Annual General Meeting
An Annual General Meeting (AGM) is a formal meeting held once a year. An AGM serves to act as a review of the year and deal with issues such as the election of committee/board members and reviewing the annual accounts.
Although it is a formal meeting, it can also be a good opportunity to communicate with members, clients, partners and other interested parties, which is why invitations along with the AGM’s agenda should be sent out usually 21 days before the meeting.
An AGM should take place following the end of your financial year after the accounts have been audited and are ready to be presented. Committee and board members usually attend and staff and other volunteers are encouraged to attend. Invitations may also go out to clients if appropriate.
As one of the prominent areas on the agenda is the nominating of new committee or board members it is advisable to ask for nominations before the AGM, which should be proposed and seconded. Please follow the link below to find a nomination form for officer roles and committee membership.
To vote on anything at the AGM, as a member you must turn up to the AGM. This year it is on 8th April.
